I'm replacing a tv which used to have four built-in scart sockets. I have a Sky box, dvd player, vcr and another satellite receiver (for hotbird) which were all plugged in and worked just nice. Thusly;

I watched Sky most of the time, but if I wanted to watch hotbird, I simply switched to a different AV channel on my tv using my remote and there it was.

If I wanted to watch a dvd, I simply turned it on and the tv automatically switched to the correct AV channel.

I could record onto the vcr from either Sky or Hotbird, by selecting the correct channel on the vcr?

None of the above stopped me from recording Sky using Sky+ - in other words I could watch Hotbird or a dvd whilst recording with Sky+

What I'm getting around to asking is this: Would an AUTO 4-way scart do exactly the same thing as the 4 built-in scarts I had on my other tv?

Thanks in advance.
That, I'm not sure of, as normally a full 21 pin scart would send a signal that it is the current active one, and switch automatically. But if you have more than one active scart at the same time it could get confused, and switch your TV to wrong devise.

I maybe wrong, as I've only used a 2 way splitter.
