i got it friday and its very good, its GTA wild west. here is what it says on the back of the game case.

america 1911, when federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw john marston is forced to pick up his guns again and hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends. Experience an epic fight for survival across the sprawling expanses of the american west and mexico, as john marston struggles to bury his blood stained past, one man at a time.

tell me what u think of the game
didnt like the mechanics of the first 1 so im reluctant to get this 1, i may hire it first b4 i decide on the outlay.
I've heard good reviews of this game so far, and after watching many videos of gameplay on Youtube, the game looks awesome in my opinion. Just my type of game as well as i'm into the whole Western Genre and shooter games in general, so i should like this game without a doubt. Made by Rockstar (the same company who made the Grand Theft Auto series) it shouldn't disappoint as their games never do. Aside from the single player, there is Online Multiplayer and free roam where you can do basically anything you want, you can also form Posses with your friends and complete missions, fight other posses, rob banks, hunt animals etc.

This will definitely be the next game i want to buy. Smile
I have this and it's top notch. I never played the first one so I can't comment but it's exactly like GTA but with Cowboys. The graphics are good and the map is nice and varied. Horse riding across open world is great and it gets even better with the lasso. I prefer the shooting in Red to GTA, being able to slow down time and pick off body parts never gets old. I'm not far through the story missions but it's meant to last a good while. I was a bit dissapointed with it on Xbox Live at first, as it can become difficult to get in a decent game. I recommend it to anyone who likes sand box games in general, and a must if your a Clint Eastwood wanna-be.
Thinking about getting this game too, been watching the play throughs on youtube and like what i see, plus the online mode looks good too.
I thought GTA4 was good but way too overrated, I didn't even bother with the expansion packs, would I enjoy this? And that free-roam thing, does that mean you can play the single player campaign co-operatively?
I imagine if you like the GTA series, you should like this game. The similarities are with the Online play and general game mechanics and the ability to free roam in an open environment. However in other ways it's seems like a completely different game to the GTA games, given it's a Western game, in a completely different setting and time period with old authentic weapons, which makes it stand out to the GTA games in that aspect.

I'm not sure if single player campaign can be played co-operatively - but many people (like myself) are getting this game purely for the online multiplayer, as i'm more of an Online player myself, it all depends on what you're looking for out of the game.
I was the same with GTA 4 it looked good but there something about the game that for me was a little disappointing. My fav GTA For me had to be Vice City really loved that game. As for Red Dead Redemption i like the whole scope of the things you can get to do and plus being able to play in wild west has got me interested in wanting to buy this game.
i agree was disapointed with GTA 4 too. As for the whole GTA in the wild west it's nothing new i remember GUN on the PS2 having the same accolade but didn't really live up to the hype, but maybe red dead will.
Am thinking about getting this game and would to hear what people think of game after playing it good points and bad points.
