It doesn't come as any great surprise, but this morning West Ham have sacked Gianfranco Zola as manager.
I thought it might be Mark Hughes but reports are saying it's going to be Avram Grant for West Ham.
my money would be on avram, mark haughes will wait for one of the big teams but maybe mowbray might have a shout for it
What about Slaven Bilic, Alex McLeish and Alan Curbishley? In fact why not Steve Clarke as manager instead of assistant?
paolo di canio
I really hope they go for Billic but I think they will go for Avram Grant. They should have at least given Zola till Christmas to sort things out.
I'm not well clued up about west ham at all. However i do think the best appointment would be Avram Grant. He's still widely ridiculed for his time at Chelski despite reaching their only Champions League final in their entire "rich" history and finishing 2nd in the league. His time as Pompey only goes to prove he knows how to galvanise a team who'd hit rock bottom who's club had such an uncertain future.
Its gonna be Mark Hughes. Guarantee it!!!!! But i would go for Slaven Bilic even though he has no club management experaince. The other person who i ve heard been thrown in is Stuart Pearce its a long shot but wouldn't be the worst. Zola was a nice bloke but not strong enough to get the job done. Thats why Fergusons been winning things for yrs no one likes him but they respect him cos when players aint good enough he gets rid (Spector take notice when the new manager comes in). Wemite end up being long ball merchants but rather be a mid-table team that wins games than a nice looking team that get relagated! Sullivan and Gold will bring Stability in the end.
Farewell to Avram Grant, Portsmouth folk here, and good luck in the future (whether with West Ham or not).
Avram Grant or Alan Curbishley to make a return
