After this article in a Sunday paper regarding alleged fixing on certain matches and the high profile of the people involved in this story, i wonder if these allegations are proved, can snooker survive as it is?SadSadSad
Do you mean the John Higgins story? If it's true it's certainly a huge blow but I wouldn't think the entire sport would die. Plenty of other sports have had scandals with drugs, cheating etc and have managed to survive. It would certainly slow down Barry Hearn's proposed revolution though - sponsors would be unlikely to pay big bucks for a while.

EDIT - It does make you wonder about some of the shots Higgins played towards the end of his defeat to Davis doesn't it? Shame really because this year's championship has been excellent.

Didnt want to name names but yes its something snooker could do without. The fact that a member of the board of WPSBA is involved makes it even worse. Going to take a lot of work by Barry Hearn and co to manage this one. Snooker will survive but big changes will have to happen first.
I really don't understand it. You would imagine he has made millions from the sport. What does that mean for the Davis win then?

There's always going to be somebody who wants more. Where big money is involved, there will be people trying to cream as much off for themselves as possible. It should be said that so far there's no evidence that Higgins has actually thrown matches.
There is a statement from Barry Hearn saying that if the rules allow it he wants them suspended. It does take the gloss off Steve Davis,s win though. More money they have more money they want! Bad day for snookerSad ( Not in any way implying that Steve Davis is involved)
wow hes fcked
wouldnt expect that from Higgins
I have met him a couple of times , And he is arsehole

I also know someone who was his cleaner and she said him & his wife are miserable c~nts
Not that surprised to be honest. Out of all the sports, snooker must be one of the easier one's to fix a match. Down the years there's most likely been many high profile players who've fixed matches and we'll never know who they are or when it happened.
Higgins is claiming that he went along with the guys in the hotel in Kiev as he thought they might be Russian mafia and he just wanted to get away. Make your own minds up.
