There's no choice to be made, as Capello said the vice-captain was next in line to be captain and the vice-captain is Rio Ferdinand.

The same rio ferdinand who has spent most of the season 'injured' (capello's abandoned the prove your fitness bit then), who when he has played for utd or england has looked like football is his second language, and who relies on john terry and/or nemanja vidic to make him look good and who if someone had made a decent bid for him ferguson would offload happily.
