The clock was close to Tiffany's arse and clocks run slower when in close proximity to massive bodies due to the gravitational time dilation effect predicted by Einstein's General Theory of Realativity.
An alternative explanation is that they are a bunch of {
removed for legal reasons} who routinely {
removed for legal reasons} their customers with these {
removed for legal reasons} marketing tactics.
I think the first reason is the most plausible.
