Can anyone tell me how i grab the 'thumnail stopframe' picture from videos that so many members use to show whats in the vid? I only ever use megaupload ,cos its the best and you dont have to join files together (yawn),and i always put a large cap from the vid in my post, but i fear people wont think there is a vid attached! many of my vids have gone unrecognised cos i am not able to add this useful feature. Cheers in advance! Smile
Do you mean something like this...

If so I use Windows Media Player Classic.

I use Video Thumbnails maker:

So, having uploaded and edited my vid, will i have to re-upload it into this too? Im just thinking about time. At the moment i just add another cap and say 'click here' on the hyperlink, im already starting to wonder if its worth doing??! Huh

Yes, thanks, but im using nero to upload . Can i edit with that, and is it free?

Yes it's free to download. I don't know about editing, I just use it to create the thumbnails.
The thumbnail maker only copies frames from a/or selected video files, it has nothing to do with editing etc. Altho you can define settings to how many thumbnails to be produced etc.

Edit your vid, once done and saved use the thumbnail maker to produce the thumbnails from the vid saved on your pc, upload the jpeg of the thumbnails to for eg. http://www.imagechunk.com or http://www.imagebam.com, then copy the Hotlinks for forums code or Thumbnail for forums (from http://www.imagechunk.com) as an example or (BCC code from http://www.imagebam.com) then upload your video to Rapidshare, Megaupload , Mediafire or whatever server you use, get your link code to the video then copy and paste both the vid link and the pic link into your post!!!
Hope this was helpfull,
If not please PM me and i will be only to glad to help a bit more .. Smile

Thanks, i think i have all the info i need, except the amount of extra time this may take. Like may posters, sometimes i just wanna get it done. If loading it into this player will take even more time, and cant be done while uploading to mega, then perhaps i wont bother?? Any ideas?
Im not sure i understand what you mean by loading it into the player ? Have you not got the videos you want to upload and edit stored onto your pc ? i am a little confused now..lol

Ok, yes the vid is loaded into my pc. and im uploading, and have done caps, (with vlc player!) will it take extra time to grab the thumbnails with windows media player, and how long? it sounds complicated, i dont understand why i cant do this with nero at the time of uploading, and if it DOES take longer to load, then maybe i will stick to just giving all one more cap as a ref for the vid. hey, ive always been frustrated by the thumbs from vids anyway, esp when i click on them and cant grab a cap lol! laugh
It would have taken you longer to write that post than to generate some thumbnails. lol
