if its video files, i'd recommend not converting anything. i'd invest in a 1tb external hard drive (£65), and a WDTV (£50).

if you do really want to convert all your avi's to dvd (vob etc) then by far the simplest program is convertxtodvd, does everything for you.

Personally I would buy a divx dvd player for about 30quid. Then just burn all your files as data. Saves converting with no audio/video synching issues. I do it for the kids mainly and they love me for it.
