Is it me or is Game charging a lot more for there game these days? I was in there a few weeks ago and they had Wii resort in there for 42 pounds where as HMV had the same game for 39 pounds and now there charging 44 quid for it now. The same with Uncharted 2 43 pounds and a few hopes down HMV are selling it for 39 pounds. Another odd thing about them is there price of second games uncharted 2 for example was forty quid and for extra couple quid you may as well buy a new copy of it, i doubt Gamestation is any better either and they seem to offer much for trade in these days either. My mate wanted to trade in a few games and they told him how muchhe would get for each one he just took his games back and walked out the shop, i don't blame him.
its because if you return it within a week they give you a full refund. then resell them as new not used.

so they basicaly end up having a perminant 2 for 1 sale... causing a serious hole in proffits. game have always been pricey if you want a bargain then look at granger games, the operate in a similar way but dont give full refunds if you return a game in a week. they also dont charge full price for used games or aadvertise them as new.

i got cod4 for 22 quid 2 days after release coz some numpty returned it. the disk was flawless as was packeging but it had a used sticker on it... bargain.
I've noticed that too mate. Game and gamestation are actually the same company. Game bought them out last year, I remember reading about it, so their prices will almost be identical. I don't bother looking in their shops anymore, and go with either play or the supermarkets.
I bought SVR10 for £25 on friday in asda, and they had pes for £29.
When fifa came out last month tesco were only charging £25 for that. It's crazy how they can charge so little for games sometimes. You have to be lucky sometimes though.
Thanks Hexit and Jungleboy, i got my copy of Fifa 10 off amazon for 25 quid off amazon. I don't bother buying games from either shop these days unless i've been given a voucher and then i trade a couple of games to get what i want, for the most part i just buy mine offline from places like play.com or amazon. Some times they do special deals or even get through amazon market place or playtrade where people sell there games neither brand new or like new condition via play or amazon. You can pick up som good deals, i once got grand theft auto 4 for about 12 quid brand new six months and call of duty 5 for 15 brand ne.
Like the others said GAME have always been the worst in price. Though they are the only ones that do the reward cards i think. But trading in with them is even worse. I took my street fighter 4 there after about two months after it was released new and they offered me £16 for it, it was in perfect condition and i looked round the store and they were selling the pre-owned ones for £39.
It makes you not want the trade in money just because of the profit you know they're going to make from it.

And i also saw Halo3 there, Pre owned, and its rather an old game now they wanted £35 for it.
yep they suck ass... best thing to do is buy a game from asda and take it to game, within a week of release and trade it for more money than you payed in the first place... classic.
Game and Gamestation are a big con these days just been reading on this little forum on amazon site where other people have been complaining of the very same problem. From what i've read and i don't know how true this is that HMV offer a better deal for your games will find out if this true or not. By the looks for things your better off selling your games on ebay or on amazon market place and play trade. Still think its really dumb how HMV can sell there games cheaper then Game and Gamestation and plus they trade games. All in all your better buying online for games so much cheaper i use this site:

http://www.find-games.co.uk/

gives you the cheapest prices on any games.
Don't bother going to game, they charge far too much, and give far too less for trade in, I had Resident Evil 5 special edition brand new (as I spent 2 days completing it) and they say they'd give me £8 for it Huh. Took it to gamestation and got £30 Big Grin.
Also the so called Game card suks, I was a Game card holder, bought loads of shit and all I got was like £5 off something (this was over like 5 years).

Gamestations the place to go !!!!!! Cool
I picked up ninja gaiden II and endwar the other day from game for £15.98, best deal i've seen there in forever!
I've got to second Hexit's earlier comments about Grainger Games, for those based in the north east of England. They've fairly recently started selling games online as well, but I haven't used their online service as yet so I can't comment on how good their online service is. http://www.graingergames.co.uk/default.asp is where to find them. They've been the only game retailer I use for quite a few years now.
