I loathe and despise X-Factor passionaetely, representing as it does the very worst that is wrong with UK tv and Uk music industry.It is basicaly a vehicle for attention seekers who are not prepared to put the work in for a proper music career but see it as a shortcut to fame and celebrity they crave, even if it means churning out 3rd rate cover versions of old songs.I don't believe anyone interested in music or a proper music career would go within 100 miles of x-factor. Even those poor deluded talentless, tuneless no hopers (no silly not Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue, although now I think of it) are merely canon fodder in the ratings war, being carefully selected for public ridicule by the production team before they even get to see the judges. We then get a parade of wannabes, primed and encouraged by the producers, trotting out some sob story about doing it for the family or recently deceased relatives, presumably in the hope we might not notice they can't actually sing! The Peter Kay send up is beginning to look normal by comparison.As fot the idea that Cheryl Cole or Danni Minogue should be able to pass judgement on someone elses talent is surely someones idea of a joke, and Louis Walsh thinks Boyzone is good music for gods sake!!Simon Cowell of course doesn't see artists only £ signs.
The whole charade has become a conveyer belt feeding the market for mindless, passionless 'pap' music because record companies seek instant commercial success rather than spend time and money developing bands and singers.
