The bosses are cutting back the hours that The Chat is on TV from 9am to 8.30pm to 2pm to 8pm. The Chat viewers are trying to stop The Chat from being axed as it provides a daytime alternative to BS Daytime/PP.

If you are a fan then leave a message of support on http://www.twitter.com/thechat.
done that already im thinking of complaining to offcom how dare they cut the hoursTongue
What about all the improvements that were supposed to be happening,(just going full screen is hardly an improvement) I know a lot of people on here don't like The Chat(and would probably like to see it gone), but I do,there's plenty of half naked girls on other channels (and yes I like those to) The Chat is purposefully different from them, the girls are allowed to be themselves, and we actually get to hear them speak, unlike the other shows where you just get music and maybe the odd word and texts read out once every blue moon, do they not realise how boring that is for the viewers, the powers that be ruined Party People by changing it and now they seem to be doing the same thing to The Chat annoyed. Get your act together and put it back to all day.
With all the cuts cellcast is making me thinks the chat is on borrowed time
yep does seem its days are numbered
they went full screen for a couple of days because of the power cut that affected all of Cellcast channels last Thursday(I think) Night. It meant that all the graphics had to be built back up again and that is why it was like that but the screen is back to normal now.
To the Gentlemen of Cellcast you cannot be serious to allow or contemplate or even further cuts at all to 'The Chat' the only worthwhile Chat Show not to be involved with half naked girls. I don't suppose it's occured to you that we all don't wish to go down that route and 'The Chat' with it's friendly band of girls each bringing her own personality, warmth, easy listening and understanding and for us to chat to a pretty girl on general subjects without being subjected to ever expanding necklines. If we want that we know were to go. But there's even an extra even the Mister's express themselves when the need arises.
I'm sure Cellcast has plenty of other Channels it can trim without touching our Oasis. Thank You. Albert aka Gillyboy2.Smile

P.S. Sorry !, no longer have Twitter.

Now things look to be getting even worse, with the misters now disappearing from the show.I cannot concieve of any logical reason why putting Party People on an extra channel is going make more people ring up who were not going to ring before. I suppose I'm less effected than most since I rarely got to see a morning show in the week anyway with work, but how long before girls get fed up with half the number of shifts and therefore half pay, and start drifting away. The Chat has always been different from all the other channels and offers a pleasant alternative away from all the so obviously false posturing and pouting of the other channels. I certainly have no intention of calling Party People or any other Cellcast channel if the Chat goes. While it is good that people leave messages of support and so on I'm not sure how much notice the Cellcast bosses take or even if they get to see them. I don't have a Twitter account so can't leave a message there but am seriously considering E-mailing cellcast direct.
Personally I think it's all just a plot to make Layla do the other shows

It has my full support Big Grin
There is a f/book page or post something to Ian Chattleson on f/book.

Think they will keep the regular girls and make sure they have two shifts a week and let go of the part timers or only give them shifts to cover holidays.
