LIV dangerously - the Saudi tour
Will it last? Will it take over? Will the rich scum who play in it be missed?

RE: LIV dangerously - the Saudi tour
reminds me of the Darts when PDC started up against the BDO

I can see it lasting PGA cant really do much as they will still be able to play Majors as they are not controlled by the PGA

Main one would be the Ryder Cup be weird to see it without the likes of Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter

Will many people lose sleep if Fatty Westwood can't play in the Ryder Cup? Garcia has always seemed over-rated to me. Dustin Johnson might be more important, but it's not like there's not scores of other US golfers looking for their chance, is it?

RE: LIV dangerously - the Saudi tour
In the current World climate of food shortages and oil prices going through the roof and a war in Europe how came can these golfers justify taking blood money from the Saudi's to hit a small hard ball around a manicured piece of countryside. Dustin Johnson said he did it for financial security for his family, $90 million already banked on PGA tour must be hard to live on. The golfers sit in front of cameras batting questions away regarding human right violations stating they are not placed to comment. Its sickening....Saudi's not going to run out of money as they happily ensure they do not increase supply of oil on to world market when they easily could, just sit on it and watch the price to up and up. annoyedannoyedannoyedannoyed

Westy might be a touch overweight, but at least he was good enough to qualify for the last Ryder Cup, & not have to rely on picks like the others.

I think all 3 have made peace with the fact that they have played their last Ryder Cup. Wonderful records, but on current form, all would require a Wildcard spot.

Sergio showed zero class when he slagged-off a Tour that has seen him earn $43 million, he is also set to bag double that figure courtesy of the Tours pension scheme.

For players that are past their best, this is easy money. In it's present format, with just 10 tournaments, consisting of 3 rounds with no cut, finish last in a 48 man field & earn £170,000.

This Tour is here to stay, it will expand, quickly. What will measure it against the rest, is the quality of the players.
Currently, I see it as a half-way house between the main Tours & the Senior Tours.
I don't see this Tour being of much benefit to young players looking to build a career, & challenge for majors.
The PGA has history on it's side, winning a tournament associated with the greats of the game, such as Nicklaus, Palmers, & Byron Nelson has much more prestige,

Charl Schwartzel won the 1st event, from what I read on the al Jazeera ticker tape.

Maybe Bryson deChambeau will make a difference?

Bet they would. All about money only for them, I mean look at the sponsorship tags all over their clothing when they play and are at the press conferences.....
