The existence of porn addiction (or similar) remains a hotly debated subject. For now I stick with the term "quasi-addiction" because the habits of many of us certainly share various elements of addiction but not all. That quibble aside though, I very much agree with the gist of what you say here. But it's how we come to assess that "perceived reward" which is the central topic of this thread. Along with the mechanisms the shows use to manipulate our feelings on that judgement call.

Like gambling the shows are best pursued in moderation and, similarly, can be enjoyed if consumed with knowledge and discernment. But yes there's a reason gambling and the shows share the word "punt" for the usage of those that partake. The shows can indeed be a gamble when attempting to judge what our likely return will be.

And she's aware of that too, judging by her efforts lately to try and get other people involved.

Thanks SM. This is something else I've been meaning to bring up here since I touched on the potential for a toxic chat to effect a guy's potential spend in the OP.

Yes, this has come over from the scene on the likes of MFC or CB; and 'whale' tippers/cammers, I predict, are going to be the next big source of friction amongst their fellow punters around these parts. There is often a somewhat different psychology with these guys I find. Their spending looks like it can become motivated by additional factors less concerned with basic interactions and more with control of 'their' babe and her session environment. Such bad attitudes naturally rub off on those around them; and, to be frank, ego, jealousies, protectivism, questions of exclusivity and entitlement can really come to the fore amongst chatters when one or two whales invoke swamping behaviours in a babe's chat boxes.

We can only hope we aren't then to continue down the road of silliness that we've on those internet only operator shows... where the babes hire these types as friggin' chat mods! That way lies even greater madness.

The idea that the babeshows "are not that deep" is driven by those that don't wish to acknowledge how much effective customer service and a consideration of psychology impacts users' future interactions.

Many years ago... Anyone who had credits with Lads Lounge like myself, lost them as they changed their name to Party People
The fact I still spent money witha company I'd grown to despise proves addiction is exactly what it is... And what the companies rely on

Sorry to pull this quote from another thread but contemplating this one fascinated me tonight. It seems so representative of the oh so common (perhaps even quintessential) babeshow experience. Because, as anyone knows that's followed tiny's/dazzler's other posts, he continued his show use despite this poor first exposure. And we all do this don't we? We go back, time and again, disregarding so many issues, because, well...

I'll ask it here of tiny of course: Why did you still phone back after this mate?!

But if I may be so bold as to predict his answer... It'll either be because other better parts of the experience persuaded him to do so, or that he switched to other babes that did the trick for him instead.

It is beyond that though, where the real meat of this subject lies I feel. I mean, why do we persist in paying up so much - despite all the crap we face? Soooo much of the time we continue to return; beyond any reasonable expectation we might have in other arenas I'd suggest. Why is that? Why are babeshow payers so tolerant?

I can only put it down to two things for the moment:
1. The implusive eternally hopeful, emotion led, part of the punt overcomes the rational elements of the choice - those elements the first part of this thread focused so heavily on. We ignore the rational and focus on the 'wrong' things essentially. The heart, or the cock, leads the head in a unique way for the consumer of adult material!Tongue
2. The unique qualities of what we judge as an interaction's 'good bits' are very difficult to source elsewhere. This formulates to an adrenaline rush of a 'winning' interaction that cannot be replicated in another arena. For the fan, an achieved high defeats all the losses incurred previously (and the prospects of future failings) because we are predisposed to think of it all as, at it's core, an essentially enjoyable game. The quest itself (for the high of a positive interaction) being an at least implicitly acknowledged part of the sustaining process of being a fan. IOW, we've been acclimatised to feel for our show use in the same manner that a gambler feels about his betting. We accept many 'buyer beware' elements we would scorn elsewhere as a result.

Of course there are limits to this. The proportion of satisfactory experiences must remain adequate to us if the industry is to retain our paying custom. Fall below a certain thresholds and repeat use will still fall and, eventually, halt. But the nature of babeshow punting, seen as a gamble in this way, is what, IMO, holds these thresholds lower than they otherwise might be.

The idea that the babeshows "are not that deep" is driven by those that don't wish to acknowledge how much effective customer service and a consideration of psychology impacts users' future interactions.

The channels found the perfect niche of blending lads mags, phone sex lines, strip clubs and porn.

I haven't called in over a year now... Obvs. no Kellie for me to ring.. But after VNTV closed I tried other girls and channels... This had frankly depressing miss rate regarding steering the call to how I like them to go ( little fetish at the start before the usual filth)
I won't lie, I still feel tempted, but I usually just ask what's the point

RE: The Psychology of the Spend
The reason I phoned into a babe channel was I was asked be a babe on socail media to phone in instead of chatting on there. In which I fell for cos instead of speaking freely the phone call was money in her pocket. To be honest the experience and call was an anticlimax we spoke about everything and nothing. The babe went from one channel to another.
I do t know about everyone else but I look for valve of money to these channels let's just say a tenner that either 3 minutes in pervcam, 2 minutes in a private show, 2 buzzes, or a 6 minutes phone call if a person gets through first time
I was gonna put this into another thread but will put it on here instead .I was watching a breakfast babe show this morning and I was watching a customer plough money into this babe show. And I thought what is it like before a person got out of bed in paying out hundreds of pounds. Would it bothered you or would a person be thinking what have I just done

Babeshow Fans: Can you Become Addicted?

https://www.babestation.tv/blog/babeshow-addiction/

Talk of live babeshow addiction was first ramped up in the wake of a high profile media story, in which a babe channel fan ran up a debt of over ninety grand, then told his woes to a newspaper as part of a bid to get the debt completely written off. The reality of the story was pretty clear. A middle-aged man, who should have had a lot more sense, spent a fortune he didn’t have on premium rate chat calls, naïvely taking standard babe channel sales patter at face value and believing that various TV babes had a genuine interest in him. But part of the subtext was that the fan had actually become addicted to babeshows, and out of this sprang a number of other claims, by fans, that they too were suffering from a ‘babeshow addiction’.
