I missed Flanders at the weekend too as I'm in the middle of replacing a flat roof at home. Having to watch a Eurosport Highlights package doesn't fill me with happy thoughts.

Great to see Cav land his first race for 3 years with a stage win in the Tour of Turkey.

A decent week for Tom Pidcock too with a win in De Brabantse Pijl and an unbelievably close 2nd at the Amstel Gold Race.

Geraint Thomas won the week long tour of romandie today taking the yellow top on the last day by coming 3rd in a time trial, its the first tour hes won since winning the tour of France in 2018, its a good one to win as it a top level world tour race and up some very big Swiss mountains,

Delighted for g man to get back on the top step of the podium glad his fall in yesterday's stage in horrible conditions at the end of the stage didn't dent his confidence

The 2021 Giro stage 1 time trial (8.6km) was won by the Italian Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers)

Today's stage 2 covers 173km from Stupinigi to Novara. (flat)
