I think the magistrates need to have a look at keeping anonymity for people in the public eye as making it public does not help justice served and in this case may have added to her distress.

Its to prove the Press/media's accountability.
Unfortunately they hide behind "its not our doing, "we only print what we see, its not our actions but that of the individual's".

This law basically proves what has been seen and raised for years.. the media are largley to blame for the rise & fall of stardom..
The law/ruling needs to pass.
Caroline was far too young, all this seemed (in my own opinion not that of the forums) from the tabloids .

This is obviously a terrible tragedy for everyone involved, but those criticising the CPS need to get things in perspective. Domestic violence is a very serious issue and I doubt they would be so blasé about not pursuing charges if it was the other way round, and he was alleged to have assaulted her.

That said, there definitely needs to be some sort of protection or anonymity for cases like this, until a conviction is secured.

I agree that unless you can prove that there is direct lawlessness you can bring the sort of charges that thy wish to bring about with Caroline's Law and also agree that anonymity should remain in place for trials involving people in the public eye. I think Thatcher tried to rein in the press and failed didn't she?

I understand what the CPS said in their statement, but there are times when they push ahead with a case as they have often said "it is of public interest" and when it is "not of public interest" and think they don't often clearly distinguish between the two. But was this case clearly "a case that was of public interest"? I think to many in the general public it probably would not be, it probably could/would have be classed as being a "trial by media" but I do still feel the CPS has a lot of serious questions to answer with this case.

The CPS were screwed either way they drop it and they would get attacked on being soft on domestic violence if there was evidence and seems like there was then it had to proceed

If you look at the Johnny depp and amber heard case he was accused of being a domestic abuser and was cancelled by the woke and it then turns out theres audio of Amber heard actually admitting to slapping him and gas lighting him about it

Things have to be tested in a court of law

Fully agree, the CPS were damned if they did & damned if they didn’t. If they had dropped the case, they would have got criticism for dropping it because she’s a celeb or that they don’t take male domestic violence seriously

But because they didn’t drop it, they’re getting blamed for Caroline Flack taking her own life & for not protecting her

Bet that if it was the other way round the CPS wouldn’t be getting the amount of criticism that they are getting. Plus people would be saying good riddance & rot in hell about Caroline’s partner

sometimes domestic violence can be a rather heavy double edged sword to deal with, so to speak

Having read this unreleased statement from Caroline it’s so sad to read she’s been battling mental health issues for many years. Can see why she was advised not to post it as Caroline does admit to hitting her partner & accepts responsibility for the incident

she also says it was an accident, and that the blood was hers.... reading a statement in full makes such a difference.

I did read the full statement, yes it was an accident (according to Caroline in this Instagram post) but Caroline has admitted she did hit her boyfriend (which is an act of domestic abuse regardless of it being an accident) & has taken responsibility for this incident.
