Using A Credit Card To Call The Channels

It depends who you're dealing with of course. A global brand like Playboy is hardly going to risk any damage to its reputation.

You are wrong of course. But as Aaron has pointed out there are very few porn websites that have direct billing anyway, so your point is irrelevant.

I don't know what experiences you have of the pornographic industry, but I know a lot of those involved, including household name performers and a few heavyweight behind-the-scenes business types. Drugs, beating up girls, theft, fraud... it's all there. Some are as clean as a whistle of course, but do you honestly think that an industry like porn ISN'T going to attract a disproportionate ratio of dodgy characters? And do you really have sufficient faith in your built-in integrity radar to discern which company you're gonna trust with the ability to plunder your bank accounts?! Christ even the owners and backers of blue chip online gaming firms I used to deal with for work were financially shady characters - you reckon porn is somehow miraculously peopled by guardian angels?!

Not me mate. I know what I know, so when it comes to allowing people to know my personal details, I steer clear of all of them.

I don't think you're paying attention. Very few suppliers of online porn are trusted by credit card companies to use direct billing. They have instead to use a payment provider that the credit card companies recognise and trust. This means that buying porn is actually one of the safest online transactions that you can ever make.

I've given my cc details to Dirty Talk before without any problems, so nothing bad to report there. I can't comment on Live 960 as I haven't watched that channel as yet, let alone called it or used their cc service.

i know for a fact one of the channels passed my mobile number onto some other dodgy outfit, i mean theres texts i expect to get (FREE MSG Amber here i want ur cok. watch http://www.sslive.tv etc) that are obviously from the channels, but others i dont expect ("Found these & thought of you.. x 61115"), so the less details i give them the better

People may be talking at cross purposes in this thread - ringo78 are talking about your card number being passed on, your name and address being passed on or your mobile number being passed on? Also, the third party billing that various people have mentioned is for website subscriptions. It's not connected to the cc service for phone calls.

Sorry, but i couldn't let this statement pass, you couldn't be more wrong. I used a credit card for porn on the internet using a VERY reputable billing company (i won't name names) as a middleman thinking that it was safe, the porn company still managed to take money from my card for a whole TWO MONTHS, AFTER i'd cancelled the account, completely abiding by all the porn company's rules and regulations for cancellation. After a lot of to and fro (including a phone call to the States) i eventually got my money back but even then not all of it, as the porn company in question refunded me using the dollar exchange rate, which resulted in me still taking a loss on an account that i had cancelled over two months prior.

If you are advocating that a porn site (or babe channel) that uses a billing company is entirely safe, that's a completely wrong assumption and may i add, dangerous to say the least.
