Dubai seems to be the 'in' place to be. Don't quite see why, as you say, they have some strict laws regarding booze and suchlike, but I'm sure a blind eye is turned in certain areas. Marbella and Ibiza are so yesterday, all the celeb magazines seem to show snaps of the great and good in Dubai these days. Sun seems to be the common factor here, nothing like a warm beach to show off your carefully honed fake tan. Not surprising then that they hang out at the 'big name' night spots in London, and wear their designer shoes and carry designer handbags, and head to the holiday destination of choice for the glitterati. Happy to clear a few things up from very first hand experience:

Booze is not illegal - every hotel bar is free flowing. It's very rare that anyone even bats an eye lid at drunk British girls (and there are truck loads) of them.

90% of glamour model / babeshow girls that I know of DO escort in Dubai. If all you're seeing on twitter/facebook is photos of bikinis on beaches and the Cavalli Club, you can guarantee that's what they're up to. Photo in a Ferrari / Bentley / Lambo / yacht - same conclusion. Photo with new "friend" same thing. Nothing is for free in Dubai. Everybody knows and everybody turns a blind eye.

You certainly don't come to Dubai to show off your shoes and handbags - nobody can tell the difference with fakes anyway. Far better to do your showing off in London.

Celebs are 100% on paid for visits by night clubs, competition is fierce to get the nightclub $$$'s in. Some of the "celeb" ladies are known to "work" as well. Just look at some of the F1 pictures of "party hosts" and you can work that out. Fact.

Dubai is one of the most expensive places to "holiday" on the planet. Frankly, none of these girls can afford "regular" trips (one week with clubbing in a decent hotel is c. 3-4 grand, minimum). Put another way, rates of most girls literally double when they're over here - that's how they fund the trip.

Accessing the girls is easy if you have a keyboard, even easier if you have a record of spending.

Nightlife here is nothing like it is back in the UK, it's a parade of available women - and the babeshow girls are competing with some of the hottest Eastern Europeans and visiting US pornstars. Most bars are the same. Frankly, if you're with your wife, it's too much. If you have a good looking wife, most will assume she's a hooker. You don't make life long friends in the bars / clubs of Dubai.
