Jerome Boateng playing for Germany against Mexico has made the first foul throw of the 2018 World Cup!

Earlier Aleksandar Kolarov scored for Serbia against Costa Rica with a direct free kick, the 3rd such goal in the tournament. This means goals from direct free kicks is already level with the whole of the World Cup finals in 2014.

Germany are pushing a lot of players forward and are being exposed by Mexico on the counter attack, and with better decision making could be 3 or 4-0 up

Had Mexico took those two chances in the 2nd half Germany would have had absolutely no way back
Mexico showed that with a bit of pace you can catch Germany out with a counter attack or two
