THE FUTURE

And the future? Unbridled, free to air girl/girl scenes are now high-risk, extremely difficult for channels to justify, and probably pretty tough even to arrange. Bang Babes went to TV jail, and no one’s going to be dashing down to the lollipop shop on a mission to emulate their template.

But this doesn’t mean the channels should forget that they’re screening television programmes, or forget that advertising is driven by entertainment. Paying exorbitant broadcasting fees to screen models staring blankly at laptops and/or obliviously chatting with colleagues, is just as wasteful as provoking regulatory fines. That is neither advertising nor entertainment. It’s a straightforward waste of money, the consequences of which are already plainly evident.
