General Election called for June 8th

Just been announced by Theresa May she intends to call a General Election on June 8. Interesting

or they could win if they go for anti brexit vote like the lib dems will the 52 percent who voted for brexit mostly in labour heartlands really want to vote tory

its great news, hopefully labour can be finished off for a good long time,
i think the Tories will end up with about 100 more mp's than they got at the moment,
think it will work out for the Libs as well they could well end up with 30 mp's,

No matter what your political leanings may be, a parliament without strong, credible opposition is not a good thing at all. A huge majority makes it very difficult to hold a government to account

Well, this sorts out the mess about battle-bus expenses from the last time, and the possibility of a number of embarrassing bye-elections. Just do the whole lot in one go.

Why are people saying this will kill Labour?

and why is she calling for a snap general election? What's the real motive? I don't believe the 6min51secs waffle speech that came out.

I would've thought the left would be getting more votes because of brexit?

^she needs her own strong mandate. if brexit goes to shit and the country falls apart, where do you think the blame will fall.
