Page 3 is no more in the Sun Newspaper

The Sun published this on Tuesday, so I don't think their change of policy has been that radical.

I wouldn't hold out much hope of anti-page 3 potential customers suddenly buying The Sun .
Remember the anti-smoking lobby ,getting smoking bans in pubs .Then saying "watch all the non-smokers return to the pubs".
It's possibly the main reason all the pubs are going out of business .
However ,I remember the Daily Star being bought from Express Newspapers by David Sullivan (Sport Porn Baron) in 1987.They basically turned it into The Sunday Sport ,with tits on every other page and sex ads and vibrator offers on the rest .
The previous main "reputable" advertisers all left in droves .This resulted with The Star being repurchased by Express Newspapers after 7 weeks of massive advertising / readership losses .

Yeah the smoking ban in pubs lead me to start smoking again becsuse all my mates were outside having a smoke so I was left in pub looking like a sad loner

These do gooder people who like to ban stuff just because they don't like it really wind me up!!!!!

I mean if i don't like something i won't buy it. Same as if i don't like a TV programme, (i.e the babeshows) i won't watch it. I can't stand reality shows and X-Factor. I wouldn't ban them though as i know they are enjoyed by many other people.
These intolerant fucks who think that it is ok to ruin other peoples enjoyment just coz they don't like something. They are the real problem. Why the fuck should we panda to these imbeciles just because they shout the loudest.

You go and ask Melinda Messenger if she thinks page 3 is a bad thing.
She launched a very successful career off the back of being on page 3. She earnt a good living as a TV presenter. She is now a successful mother, she always came across as a nice person.

What i find more obscene is that you can pay a footballer £100s of thousands of pounds per week to have no talent or intelligence. Just to kick a ball around a field. In return they will set a bad example to kids by behaving badly and treating women badly.
No one is asking for football to be banned.

All you do gooders out there GO FUCK YOURSELVES!! All you have achieved in this instance is robbing fellow women of making an income. (Right on, Girl Power).

The Sun did this for commercial reasons pure and simple. They have no higher motivation.

Can we have a campaign to get rid of all the Sun's other pages now?

Following the #page3 hashtag on Twitter the last couple of days, the hypocrisy from some feminists is astounding. "Women should be able to do whatever job they want and be treated equally" they say. Unless of course, it's posing topless on page 3, then nah, you can't do that.

What they really mean when they say women should be able to do whatever they want is "Women should be able to do what they want, as long as what they do conforms with my worldview." Utter hypocrisy. I wonder if they have a list of what else women shouldn't be allowed to do. Models at the darts leading the men out at the start of a match? F1 grid girls? Who's next?

The premise that the end of page 3 will be a triumph for feminism & the end of the story is flawed enough, but when will we see the similar campaigns to end sexist crap of women's mags, like Cosmopolitan, let alone the sexualisation prevalent in teen magazines aimed at girls?
