That's a very high speed impact. Even if the fuel tank survives intact the fuel lines won't and a spill onto a hot engine or exhaust means a fire is inevitable. I'm pretty sure the fuel tank is next to the luggage space at the front.

The CGT is notorious as being a car that will bite you on the arse if you get it wrong.

just found out about this a few minutes ago, i can't believe he's dead. i love the fast and furious films so it's kinda ironic (and still sad) that he died the way he did.

Gotta tip my hat to this guy...a very nice fella whos life terribly cut short...sucks bad..

Just found out that Paul Walker's death & I was deeply shocked by this news. A brilliant actor who had a great future ahead of him.

My sincere condolences to his family, friends, his millions of fans & his fellow actors/actresses that knew him so well durin this very sad time.

The fuel tank is in the front on 911s,Karmen Ghias and of course VW Beetles,have a front end smash in any of these and even you survive the initial impact the car could just catch fire quickly,also cars with all the weight at one end are always going to be unpredictable to handle especially if its wet or icy.

tells you something that the identification wasn't fully confirmed until after both sets of dental records had been checked against the two bodies. they were apparently that badly burnt. also noted that the cause of death stated that paul died from both the impact trauma and suffocation from the fire, while the driver died from pure impact trauma. sad end, but happens when someone lives life in the fast lane. though no evidence to prove the driver had been racing anyone else, do you really believe he wasn't giving it some welly to have gone off the road where they did...?
