By default the stream on mobile devices is HD but it depends on your reception , normally it will start on the lowest quality after 30 seconds it changes to the highest quality depending on your reception

I try to give more informations.
From a week, using an Ipad and watching the show on shebang.tv the stream remains on the lowest quality, before was like you've said.
(maybe is something related to the new iOS 7 )
I repeat this happens form 1 week, i'll try again this evening.

Just tested with the Ipad, the videos starts in low quality, after few seconds switch automatically in hd but often switch again in low quality and remain in low.
