RIP Tony Gregg

It was sad to learn of the death of 66 year old Tony Gregg today.

He was the South African born captain of England from 1975-77.

Tony was last heard commentating on Sky this year.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer in October but reports say that he died of a heart failure.

very sad news he was a great allrounder for england

Although i never saw him play i always enjoyed listening to his commentary on Sky.

Excellent cricketer and great enthusiastic, patriotic commentator. Was never frightened to give the pink ginners who ran cricket the criticism they deserved. RIP Tony

A real genuine character on and off the pitch, Tony Greig will be sorely missed. A tremendous player and very fine captain and commentator. R.I.P.

Great commentator.Great player.Patriotic ?? To who ?South African born moved to England .He was Kerry Packers undercover recruitment officer while captain of England.Hounded out of England for this .Packer gave Greig a lifetime contract with his channel 9 tv station for his trouble .

I always remember him for his pitch reports when he used a car key to highlight the cracks in the pitch.There's some really funny spoof recordings of these & others (sorry no Link). A larger than life character,RIP
