^ I am indebted to the honourable friend for dragging the thread back to something relevant and am pleased to confirm his assertion that watching via the bs.tv website the stream is indeed in a state which the old fashioned might have described as "grandmother's footsteps" ie. every time you look at the action it freezes into immobility, if you look away for some time and look back then the action has moved on but is still in freeze frame.

The popular "Dr Who" series has revived this tradition with the "Weeping Angles" and the much acclaimed "Blink" episode - subsequent episodes featuring them have sufferered the laws of diminishing returns and Steve Moffat-hating backlash; so I can only assume BSX producers this evening are avid Dr Who fans, and this form of transmission is a "homage" and not a technical balls-up, because that never happens with BSX, particularly not on a night when more viewers might be tuning in than normal having been led to believe by promotional advertising they might be justified in hoping for a glimpse of Madison Rose's crotch?
