Andy Williams RIP

One of my fav songs - always will be, not least it reminds me of my childhood.





Also this one is amazing.




And who can forget this:

My favourite song of Andy's is "It's So Easy":P love it to bits!

I remember playing it on a radio station around 12 years ago that I worked on with a colleague who at the time was also working on a BBC station and he had a go at me for mentioning on air that Andy always wore extremely funky jumpers lol! My colleague often had no sense of fun or humour!

A great talent lost. I loved his work.
But the news sources should get there facts right. The BBC and this afternoon Paul Gambacinni both said that he had a massive hit with "Moon River" in fact even though he is well known for recording it, it was never released as a single on either side of the Atlantic. Danny Williams (no relation) had a No. 1 with it in the UK

Andy's version of Moon River did reach Number 3 in the USA as part of his Moon River and Other Great Movie Themes LP in March 1962 and again in 1970 on Andy's Greatest Hits compilation LP which hit Number 42 in the USA and Number 1 in the UK!

But yes you are right, Moon River was never officially released as a single by Andy.
