R.I.P Neil Armstrong

He was one of big reasons why i took a big interest in space R.I.P Neil.

Armstrong family statement "Next time you walk outside on clear night & see moon smiling down at you, think of Neil & give him a wink."

I never realised just how much courage it must have taken to embark on these missions until I visited the USA and saw the NASA exhibitions.

A truly courageous man.

Man I had a double take there, I thought it said Lance Armstrong, thought he'd topped himself.

Neil Armstrong talking about his footprints on the Moon: "I kind of hope that somebody goes up there one of these days and cleans them up."

I can't understand all of this eulogising of Neil Armstrong.

All he ever did was what he was trained to do. Landing the tin can LIM on the moon in no way compares to being a contestant on Big Brother or Hmm Celebrity Big Brother or I'm A Celebrity Get Me out Of Here where he would have been subjected to constant 24 hour scrutiny.

The man was a loser. He could have been the most famous celebrity of all but no instead of opting for cheap fame and some quick millions he opted to go back and teach useless kids about aerodynamics.

That is no way to contribute to today's society.

There are calls in America today for Armstrong to be given a State Funeral.

It will be up to his family of course and they might turn it down anyway but it would be the first granted to anyone other than a President since General MacArthur in 1964.

Having read about the man,i doubt very much he would want to have a state funeral,just family and friends would suffice for Mr Armstrong he seemed to be a very private person.albeit the most famous American of modern times.
