RIP Jon Lord

This thread is for those of you who want to pay tribute to Keyboardist of Deep Purple/Whitesnake Jon Lord who died today at the age of 71 after his battle with Pancreatic cancer. Jon was responbile for co-writing "Smoke on the Water" and many songs for Deep Purple. Thanks for making brilliant rock music Jon, we will all miss you.

Just heard that Jon Lord, keyboard player with Deep Purple, has passed away. He was a wonderful player and gave Purple such a wonderfully rich sound. His solos were superb (listen to "Burn") and he managed to make the keyboards sound like an extra guitar. RIP.

Yes also just heard the news, very sad as Deep Purple are one of my favourite bands of alltime, a lot of keyboard members of other bands in all honesty are bit players but Jon made sure that we noticed him, very much a soloist in his own right, a tremendous player and very important contributer to the world of music. RIP to a true legend. Will be missed.
