Chris Huhne resigns after prosecution decision

I'll have to word this carefully as the matter is now sub judice but Chris Huhne has resigned as Energy Secretary after the CPS announced he is to be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice. The case is about an incident in 2003 when, after the family vehicle was caught by a speed camera, Mr Huhne is alleged to have falsely told the authorities that his wife was driving the vehicle and persuaded her to accept the fixed penalty and the three points. If convicted, it is almost certain that he will get a custodial sentence, as this sort of thing is absolutely hammered on.

The marriage broke up after he admitted to having had an affair with his bisexual political adviser (female, I hasten to add!) and the couple went through a bitter divorce case in 2011 and it was during this time that the accusation came to light. The media have portrayed it as her taking revenge, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned", especially as it was claimed that he only told her he was leaving and divorcing her after 26 years of marriage during the half-time interval in a 2010 World Cup game.

However, it has been announced that because she willingly went along with it (ie it wasn't that he forged her signature without her knowledge etc) she is also to be prosecuted and if convicted will also probably be sent down!

He may have told her during a football match but she certainly seems to have scored an own goal!!

mr huhne is a prick. he has inflated our energy with worthless money making green tariffs.

i hope he not his ex wife get sent down. mr huhne uses dirty tricks in campaigns (allegedly), his office issued "the clamity clegg" briefing. he is on the fast to track to soap game in the showers which some libdem mps wont mind playing.

his political advisor lesbian lovers must done some of the uglist women for her to shag mr huhne.

But what difference does that make? If he'd waited until full time and told her then would it have been a better way of doing it?
