French Breast Implants

French company Poly Implant Prothese, based in southern France, was closed last year after it was found to be using cheaper, industrial-grade silicone intended for use in electronics, mattresses or agriculture and not approved for medical use.

The British government has insisted breast implants made from a substandard silicone gel present no increased risk of rupture or cancer to women despite French advice that they should be removed.

Last week the French government disclosed eight cases of cancer among women with PIP implants.

I wonder if any of the babeshow girls have PIP breast implants.

Wouldn't surprise me, especially when you look at the number of women in the UK this has possibly affected. The Mas family really are complete and utter shits, as despite this horror story, they then had the nerve to register a new company in order to carry on manufacturing breast implants. Thankfully their plan has collapsed due to the scandal.

They should be shot. If they are willing to endanger the lives of thousands upon thousands of peoples lives for the sake of profit then they don't deserve to live... Hang on a minute? ...

It has been discovered there were concerns about the safety of breast implants manufactured by Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) at least seven years ago.
It was also revealed the French company were accused by their insurers in 2006 of deliberately concealing complaints from regulators.

A report by a consultant plastic surgeon in Los Angeles in 2005 warned that PIP implants were three-and-a-half times more likely to rupture than a test group.

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley is expected to make an announcement on the PIP controversy later today.
