UK Riots

What are the views of people on the riots currently happening in London ?

I see it is all kicking off in Hackney, reports of Peckham and now Lewisham.

The riots seemed to have eased up in Tottenham, but it seems pockets of it are popping up everywhere!

It'll carry on till at least Tuesday & maybe Wednesday for the simple reason that the media most notably Sky & BBC News are reporting on it constantly which makes it popular to be involved in, add Twitter & Facebook to this & you've got a pretty good mix modern day society.

It's now just teenagers & people in their early 20's taking advantage of a situation what the Police forces of London can't handle & has nothing to do with the shooting of the guy who was shot, if it was then there'd be shots being fired. The fact that this hasn't happened suggests it's just people who will carry on doing it till the Police start to get heavy handed & then they'll drop away when they get bored.

It serves JD right, have you seen the price of some of the stuff they sell, fuckin robbing bastards.... JD I mean not the gangbangers helping themselves to some new colours.

Mitchell - Of course, you are right, it is a reflection of society at the moment, it isn't a political statement any more, it's just the youth having fun and people taking it out on everyone and everything. To a degree I understand the frustration and the rioting. Everything in this pissing country is going up in price apart from my bloody wages!!!

The Police can't handle it, but we don't just pay for the Police do we, we pay for the fire brigade, why they can't steam in and spray people down I don't know. Not only that, but what about the army ? Instead of needlessly fighting foreign countries for yes, you guessed it, money, why not get this country in order. It's a friggin' mess!!!!

On the JD front,my personal opinion is if somebody is muggy enough to pay £100 + for a pair of cheaply made Nike air's that cost about 20 pence to make and made by a child then they're the ones who deserve the brick in the face also!

There is to much pussy footing around by the authorities. This country is known for being a soft touch which only encourages the little yobbos.

Bloody right dirtbag, now would be a good time to steam in and show some authority, unfortunately the people who make these decisions are probably sunning it up somewhere .

These Riots are terrible and they are caused by mindless idiots who are just out to cause trouble and as much damage as possible i think the Authorites are doing a great job under tough pressure these idiots will get whats coming to them the law will get hold of them and charge them.

What's the point in the police charging towards these gangs ? They run off, the group is dispersed, then 5 minutes later re-groups. It's about time the Police just lived up to their rep' and steamed in.

I have to be very careful say what I think about all of this because of my job, but appalled does not come close to what I think about this, the way this is going with setting fire to peoples homes, businesses, cars, buses, these pathetic scumbags are not gonna be happy until till they've managed to kill some innocent people with their hatred horrific actions.

As far as media is concerned, they are only reporting showing what is happening and these scumbags don't like the fact they can be identified from tv pictures for their criminal actions.

This so called rioting is No answer whatsoever, the only people being hurt are innocent people, families & children.

I am so angry and ashamed about this whole disgusting wanton violence just cant put my disgust into words.

Now I see they're starting trouble up in Chapeltown in Leeds as I write this, dunno what to say.

agree totally as well, its just the gangs now just running amok targeting anything and everything in sight. shows just how bad gang culture has come and nothing to do with the shooting of someone by police. hopefully it will just fizzle out before it gets even more serious
