Amy Winehouse dead at 27

It's a bit silly to say she had no talent when she was such a big global star and won so many awards.

Yes she was a good singer,some of the material was a bit average,but I do think to compare her to giants like Hendrix,Morrisson and Joplin is just ridiculous.

Agree with you mate, alcohol is the scourge of the nation. Still if it wasnt for alcohol, half of us wouldnt be here As for the smoke, as a former been stopped for years, its just so much a waste

On reflection the death of Amy Winehouse at only 27 was a tragic end to a star who had wasted her talents due to the excessive lifestyle she was leading, so in many ways it also didn't come as much of a surprise. I have to confess I was never really much of a fan of her or her music but I still respected her for what she did as it was genuine and not manufactured unlike a lot of today's singer's and pop bands. I think this death will send out a strong message that getting pissed up and out of your face every night is not something to look up to or admire and I hope when people look back on Amy in years to come that this tragic run of events that lead up to her death are not forgotten instead of giving her some kind of hero status. I also hope that although Amy was a very talented musician she never gets mentioned alongside the great legends in the past who have died such as Elvis, John Lennon, Freddy Mercury or Michael Jackson because she was not in the same league as these group of legends.
