Sad news. Columbo the character and Columbo the show was terrific. It's my favourite detective series ever. R.I.P.

Mutley from the Dick Dastardly cartoon was based on the Peter Falk character from The Great Race film.

A man with a true style of his own - I remember many happy hours watching Columbo - a detective series taken from a different angle.

RIP indeed.

Another of my favourites gone,reminding me once again how little time we spend on this planet. R.I.P.

And we never ever got to see Mrs Columbo in Columbo (until she got her own series). She was just like Mrs Mainwaring in Dads Army....never seen.

some great actors playing the murderers and helped many others with their careers eg jamie lee curtis first ever acting role on tv. even Mr. Miyagi appeared in columbo. has the years went by alot of seasoned and respected actors guest starred in columbo, our very own robert vaughn (man from uncle, hustle) played a murderer and victim. it ran from 1968 to 2003, 35 yrs playing one character is not easy.
