Lithium battery care
I own a Creative Vado HD camcorder and am wondering (as I have for some time) what is the best way to maintain its rechargable lithium battery, to ensure I'm getting the best from it in terms of life between charges. For instance, I've heard it said that rechargable batteries should always be run dead before recharging. In other words avoid 'topping up'. Is this true?

Also, I quite often end up going to bed with my camera on charge, knowing that it will reach full charge during the middle of the night. Will it harm my battery leaving it on charge after it has reached full charge?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Lithium battery care
i don't think leaving it on charge for an extra couple of hours on an overnight would make much difference but i always try and let the battery fully discharge before i re-charge, especially when it's new.topping it up now and again won't hurt it either. they also say when storing it for long periods to store it at half charge(50%).

I don't understand the point you're making, tartars? Yes, I did buy it new, but why do you hope I didn't? The battery life is good and the results when watched through my 32" lcd tv are superb.

There was a link on the post i made to amazon, which says the new price was £179, it is now £55 (assuming same model), therefore a saving of £124.09.

Would have thought it fairly obvious what i meant, may be not.

Well I'm sorry, but I didn't see the point you were making. In any case, this is a whole heap of bollocks and very naughty of Amazon. I bought mine 12 months ago (not long after they'd been on the market) and it was £97.00. They've never been priced at £124.09, or anything like that.
