Probably the biggest pitfall of this joke of a site.

Allows so many possibilities for scammers and girls to just milk you.

Since you have to purchase a minimum amount of tokens to even see who the hell is on the other end of the connection and by the time you even get to know what they're about...you're down about 15 quid.

At least with MFC or CB you can test the waters first in public chat.

I'm pretty much done with AW altogether. Just a primitive, poorly designed site that should have flourished back in the late 90's.

Sometimes and Yes. Some girls will ask for tips others don't.

Email them to see how far they go and whether tips are expected. Those that are any good will tell you. For example (I think I framed question around 20 -30 min private and would there be any expectation of tips)
