Dear John one of my favorite shows ever,as well as Just Good Friends.
Sad day.

Just heard the news Only Fools And Horses is my favorite sit com plus his other work Citzen Smith Just Good Friends Dear John deserve a mention amongst many others RIP

What a legend, rest in peace and thanks for all the laughs over the years.

One of the best sitcom writers of all time. RIP.

so many great actors and writers dying recently pete postlewaite, elisabeth sladen and john sullivan which is so sad and leaves a huge gap in quality talent but they leave behind a fantastic and hugely respected legacy which stand the of time what was great yesterday will still be great in the future. long live their work.

We need all the comic genius that we can..
He will be missed.

I was actually very surprised at just how young he was when he died, most fondly remembered for his creation of Only Fools and horses which was spawned across many a generation, he was certainly a very gifted man to have this rare skill of being able to connect young and old in his style of writing. A great contributer to all things British that we love in our comedy.
