Playing rar files on my tv

Just to update, seeing as you've all been so helpful. I stuck the usb stick into my tv, but I only had the option to look at photos or play music. Whichever I selected it didn't even recognise there was anything on the usb stick? Just came up with a folder that it claimed was empty.

Anyway, it was just an experiment and I'm not really concerned in pursuing it. I've now watched the clip on my pc and have seen what I wanted
