RE: Last film you watched
A few films I've watched over the last few evenings:

Absolutely Everything (2015)
Comedy starting Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale. A group of eccentric aliens confer a human being with the power to do anything, just like a God to see if he'll use them for good, otherwise they'll destroy the planet. It's a silly story, but it has quite a lot of funny parts, plus Kate Beckinsale is looking fine in it!
3/5

Friday (1995)
Comedy starting Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. Two friends smoke a dope dealer's weed and try to figure out a way to get the $200 they owe him by 10pm that same night. This had me cracking up, and had me realising why it's considered such a classic. It was nice to see Ice Cube in a comedic role after being in nothing but dramas beforehand. The film that inspired the famous "DAAAAAAMN" memes.
4.5/5

Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Horror. There is a panic throughout the nation, as the dead suddenly come back to life. The film follows a group of characters who barricade themselves in an old farmhouse in an attempt to remain safe from the bloodthirsty , flesh-eating monsters. Made well before the over saturation of zombie tv shows and movies, it's a well made film, that's pretty gory for its time, that shows just how hard it'd be to survive in such circumstances, with a lot of tension throughout.
4.5/5

The Big Clock (1948)
Film-noir starring Ray Milland. When powerful publishing tycoon Earl Janoth commits an act of murder at the height of passion, he cleverly begins to cover his tracks and frame an innocent man who's identity he doesn't know but who just happens to have contact with the murder victim. That man is an associate on his magazine whom he enlists to entrap this "killer" Greorge Stroud. It's up to George to continue to "help" Janoth, to elude the police and to find proof of his innocence and Janoth's guilt. I'd never heard of this and just found it by checking out various films on showbox. I'm glad I found it. Well worth a watch, especially if you're a fan of noir films.

Yes, classic noir remade as No Way Out in 1987 starring Kevin Costner,Gene Hackman and Sean Young. A pretty good remake.

The Angels' Share(2012) Four Glasgow youngsters doing community service plan a heist on a Highlands distillery. Directed by Ken Loach, this is a skillful mix of typical Loach realism and strong drama, some humorous moments and an interesting look into the world of whisky. Brightly performed by a mostly unknown Scottish cast with fine experienced actors like John Henshaw and Roger Allam as well. Also starring Paul Brannigan,Siobhan Reilly,Gary Maitland,William Raune,Jasmine Riggins,David Goodall and Scott Kyle. 7/10

A psychological thriller examining the plight of undocumented female immigrants hoping to make a life in New York. Shot on Super 16 with an intimate, voyeuristic sensibility, the film chronicles one harrowing day in the life of Luciana, a young immigrant woman.

Not usually the type of movie I watch but I took a punt and was strangely captivated.
While in parts it drags on a little I found myself having to see how it played out.
Based on true events I'd say if you've got a spare hour & a bit have a look.

I watched that a couple of years ago. I thought it was great. I'll have to give it another watch do on to see the similarities to The Big Clock. It's good to hear you've seen TBC, a real hidden gem.

Lord Of War (2005) The life and times of an arms dealer. With Nicolas Cage in the title role, this is a clever mix of crime thriller and humorous satire helped by Cage's intelligently written narration interspersed with scenes about his personal and business life. The moral issues are covered without the message being hammered at you, as well shocking glimpses into the brutality and sadism of war. There is good support from Jared Leto as his brother,Bridget Moynahan as his wife and Ethan Hawke as the dogged Interpol agent tracking him down. Also starring Eamonn Walker good as an African dictator(based on the real Liberian leader,Charles Taylor) , Ian Holm, Jean-Pierre Nshanian and Evgeniy Lazarev. 7.5/10
