Thor: Ragnarok

The latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which is a fun entertaining romp from start to the very end with great special effects & action along with one of the best villains in the MCU Hela played by Cate Blanchett who is incredibly evil & menacing. Jeff Goldblum is very good as The Grand Master, Tessa Thompson is very beautiful & a badass as Valkyrie. Chris Hemsworth & Tom Hiddleston are on their usual excellent form as Thor & Loki. Mark Ruffalo is very good as Bruce Banner/The Hulk

Stan Lee has his usual very funny cameo & Benedict Cumberbatch also appears as Dr Strange & an avenger also has a little cameo

There are 2 post credit scenes, 1 part way through that sets up Avengers: Infinity War & a fun one right at the end with The Grand Master

Ragnarok is the best of the 3 solo mcu Thor films

The Last King(2016) Norway 1206 in a time of civil war and two factions fight over the kingdom, one want the baby son of the previous king to rule, the other want him dead. Initially confusing working out the different factions and sometimes a bit letdown by a flatness in the script, but enlivened by some characters to root for, some exciting snowbound battles and highlighting the post Viking period, probably not known outside Scandinavia. Starring Jacob Oftebro,Kristofer Hivju,Ane Ulimoen Overli,Nikolaj Lie Kaas,Pal Sverre Hagen and Thea Sofie Loch Naess. 6.5/10

Fatal Attraction (1987)

A married man risks losing everything by having an affair with a colleague while his wife is away for the weekend. Unfortunately for him when things get too dangerous and he wants out, his lover isn't willing to say goodbye. Subsequent events spiral out of control in devastating fashion right up to the frantic, nerve-shredding conclusion. The film that probably made a generation of men think twice before committing adultery. Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer star in a tale of red hot sex and frightening violence in Adrian Lyne's erotic thriller that still has the power to shock 30 years later. 3.5 / 5

Leatherface (2017)

Prequel to all the chainsaw massacre films, in which we learn how Leatherface started out.
Jed (Leatherface) is taken away from his murderous family as a young boy and put into a secure mental hospital. One night he and 3 other assorted psychopaths escape taking a nurse as a hostage. Personally I don't think it's a good idea placing nurses who look like glamour models in hospitals where they are surrounded by sex starved young men with homicidal tendencies, but that's just my opinion. The group are hunted by a vengeful police chief who's daughter was a victim of Leatherface's family.
This film is very violent, so if people being decapitated or disembowled by chainsaws isn't your cup of tea, it's probably not your sort of film.

American Made

Barry Seal, a TWA pilot, is recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America and soon finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the United States. The operation spawns the birth of the Medellin cartel and almost brings down the Reagan White House.

For me goes under a 'Must see' movie

9/10 Better than I expected.

A Dark Song(2016) A bereaved mother(Catherine Walker) hires an occultist(Steve Oram) to make contact with her late son in an isolated house she has rented. Certainly a lot of thought went into this film, but initially the script feels a bit wordy and film isn't really going anywhere, but the rewards come, with two excellent performances from Walker and Oram, eerie moments helped by inventive camerawork and fine cinematography, especially that by candle light and the occasional unexpected plot twist.The strange industrial/classical score helps too. Also starring Susan Loughrane and Mark Huberman. 7/10

Happy Death Day 7/10 - funny and clever comedy horror, a high school student must relive the day of her death over and over until she discovers who the killer is. Plenty of witty one liners and a nice twist at the end.

Attack Force Z (1982) World War Two, and a small,crack Allied force,Z, of the title, fight the Japanese on a South Asian island. A slightly cheap looking, but perfectly watchable action movie, occasionally let down by the odd ropey fight scene. In hindsight now, most notable for early appearances from Mel Gibson and Sam Neill. Also starring John Phillip Law,Chris Haywood,Sylvia Chang and Chung Hsiung Ko. 6/10

Jigsaw.

I am a big Saw fan, so I was definitely interested in this, and how it was going to work. It very much felt like a good latter-day Saw film, with all the preposterousness that entails. Standard fare of twisted traps, swerves, and one scene of Tobin Bell being awesome. I personally put John Kramer well above any other so-called Horror icons, and most of that is down to Tobin Bell's performances in all eight films.

If you don't like Saw, you likely won't like this. If, like me, you do, I think you'll have a good time.

Middle Men (2009) Based on a true story,how a legit and able businessman(Luke Wilson) got himself involved in the early days of the fast growing internet porn business,through a series of sometimes dangerous, sometimes unreliable business partners. Middle Men refers to setting up the credit card payment system via computers. An absorbing tale, aided by Wilson's entertaining and informative narration, the sumptuous cinematography and a set of fine performances,including Wilson, nicely underplaying, Giovanni Ribisi and Gabriel Macht as his unreliable,on the edge business partners,Jacinda Barrett as his wife(their family life is nicely portrayed),Laura Ramsey as his girlfriend, Kevin Pollak as an FBI agent and Rade Serbedzija as a Russian gangster. There is a varied,top notch soundtrack, and although more drama than comedy, natural laugh out loud moments arise in the story. Plus, guys, there's quite a lot of boobies . A bit of an underrated film that seems to have slipped under the radar. Also starring James Caan, Kelsey Grammar and Terry Crews. 7.5/10
