RE: Last film you watched

Rocky Sullivan (James Cagney) and Jerry Connolly (Pat O'Brien) were brought up in one of New York's toughest neighborhoods, Hell's Kitchen. While his buddy Rocky gets caught up in racketeering in reform school, Jerry decides to become a priest. Years later, Rocky is released from prison and returns to Hell's Kitchen, where Jerry works with at-risk children. Rocky wants a temporary safe haven with his old friend before resuming his life of crime, but Jerry hesitates, testing their relationship.

In my all time top 20 movies.....Easy recommend!!!!

The Last Hard Men (1976) 1909 in Arizona - James Coburn as a convict escapes the chain gang and sets out to kill ex sheriff Charlton Heston, who put him in jail. A generally solid, unremarkable Western with reasonable performances from leads though they've done many better. Barbara Hershey is pretty good as Heston's daughter but the film's main point of interest is the change in the Wild West with cars beginning to replace horses, and inventions such as telephone becoming widespread, so both Heston's and Coburn's characters are becoming men out of time. Also starring Christopher Mitchum,Jorge Rivero,Michael Parks,Larry Wilcox,Thalmus Rasulala,Morgan Paull and John Quade. 6/10

Dementia 13(1963)

A wonderfully stylish and atmospheric horror thriller from Francis Ford Coppola,shot I'm black and white and following a lady called Lucie,who murders her husband and attempts to cover it up by claiming he had to leave suddenly to take care of urgent business.The palatable tension increases as her family and friends become suspicious.Patrick Mages,William Campbell and Luana Anders are all excellent in the main roles.

7.5/10

Bite (2016);

Horror film about a young Bride-to-be Casey (Elma Begovic) whilst on a bachelorette/ hen party with her friends in Costa Rica gets a rather nasty insect bite to take home as a souvenir as well as having a fling with one of the locals.When Casey arrives back home & back to reality the infection from the insect bite has got worse but instead of applying common sense (& TCP) by going to the doctors/hospital she decides to barricade herself in her appartment.It's then Casey starts to metamorphisize & she if was on 'Stars In their Eyes' she would be saying "Tonight Matthew I'm going to be half insect/half human".
The film plays into very similar territory to iconic film 'The Fly' with Jeff Goldbloom's character including the parts where lumps of hair gets pulled out,the skin shedding & pulling out the finger-nails.The effects are pretty good & Elma Begovic as Casey really gets into the role as she her character changes/evolves but the film just doesn't have the charm of The Fly.Okay film 5.5/10.

Cloverfield(2008) A monster attacks New York and the action is filmed on camcorder by one of a group of friends. Don't worry about the science and the why and wherefores and the dull first fifteen minutes or so(perhaps deliberate to heighten the shocks to come) , this is a skilfully directed film, which captures the total chaos and panic of the situation with fine performances from an unknown cast. The movie runs roughly at a hour and a half long, so the camcorder gimmick doesn't wear thin. Starring Lizzy Caplan,Jessica Lucas,T J Miller,Michael Stahl-David,Odette Yustman and Billy Brown. 7.5/10

The Snowman (2017) 4/10 - very disappointing, i was really looking forward to seeing this but the film is a mess, a strong cast is totally wasted, there is very little tension and no real surprises.

The Last King of Scotland (2006)

Plot, cast, script bla bla bla.

They are all very good but what I want to concentrate on is the tits, and the arses. Some beautiful black tits and amazing black arses wiggling and jiggling about on the screen for no apparent reason.

Absolutely fucking lovely.

Eye In the Sky(2016) The military and politicians have to work together to approve a drone strike on a terrorist house in Kenya. A satisfyingly complex ,tense,intelligent and realistic feeling thriller which cleverly raises moral issues relating to collateral damage and a good take on the ways of human nature. Also the way governments are obliged to operate as opposed to terrorists do. Starring Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman,Aaron Paul,Barkhad Abdi,Babou Ceesay,Phoebe Fox,Gavin Hood, Iain Glen,Monica Dolan and Jeremy Northam. 7.5/10
