Paula Rego - Secrets and Stories
Painter gets profiled by her son in 2017. She married a painter and lived in Portugal, where things got rough. But she did eventually hit success, and her husband did OK despite getting MS and dying.

Michael X - Hustler, Revolutionary, Outlaw
How one arrival from the West Indies found London life a challenge, and how meetings with Malcolm X pushed him in a new direction, where he impressed John Lennon, and put the wind up Michael Barratt and the establishment, until it all came to a grim end.

A lengthier follow-up which saw Rustie making Brussels pate, vol au vents and trifle from a box, whilst the science dude made cheese footballs, after eight mints and sprouts. Also chat about various products such as the chocolate orange - which succeeded the chocolate apple, but was not replaced by the chocolate lemon.
The 1980s Supermarket
1/3 Much as before, but with some newer contributors, like Anthea Turner. How to make waffles stay in shape, how to make meat with a face, how to make quiche lorraine and how to use microwaves to cook upside-down cake.

Daphne du Maurier
The author talked at her Cornish home to Wilfred de'ath in 1971 in a rare profile, repeated last week. He was very interested in her early drafts of books, she regularly went on steep walks.

A Revolution on Canvas
An Iranian painter achieved a major exhibition in Tehran in 1980, but his disrespect for the ruling Ayatollah meant he had to get out fast. But he then spent 40+ years trying to reclaim his paintings. Eventually, and despite the recent change of leadership in Iran, a friend takes smartphone pix of his paintings, from which he is then able to set up a new exhibition in the USA, where he lives. His daughter was supportive, and the wife who eventually left him also came along. Quite a sad sub-plot about his personal struggles too.

3/3 - a mosque, a synagogue, a fire station, and a final gathering, though the hyped exit just shows their supposed group connection was nothing of the sort.

But I hope they find somewhere else to do another series. And maybe persuade some Sikhs or Hindus or Methodists along for a change.
Pilgrimage - The Road Through North Wales
1/3 - well, a Jain is a bit different, I guess. But never mind, with Michaela Strachan, Christine McGuinness and Sonali Shah along, then some prayers have been answered anyway Surprised

Anita Brookner on Art: 100 Great Paintings
Possibly the whole 1981 series would merit this title, she certainly did only a handful in this hour.
