I use a Pc, Running Vista home basic.
At the moment, all avi files that I download, I convert to mpeg2 so that my DVD writing program (cyberlink dvd suite- came free with the LG external dvd writer) will burn it (any other format and it doesn't recognise it).
I notice that nearly all the files I download are tagged CD1 and CD2 etc... in +- 900Mb sized files.
I have heard that burning these video files to CD is more common, and would like to know how to go about it...
I also have ashampoo for burning, but am not that familiar with it yet...
I have gone through sooooo many disks trying to burn so that my home DVD player can read them, but so far to no avail.
I have a bunch of Memorex CD-R and Memorex DVD+R 's that I need to fill up to ease the pressure on my External HD.
Is that what you need to help...?
Thanks for the responses (and the wit - RED)
for me what works is converting them from avi to mpeg 2 (using total vidio converter) both files come it ant around the 700mb mark. mpeg2 is usualy a little bigger, then i just burn em to disk 6 at a time using neros make data disk option.
most of the time the results are fine but occasionaly the audio goes out of sync.
the other option is 2 films per disk and there transcoded into lp dvd's takes me about half an hour but not every 1 has my rig, this would take a p4 up to 4 hours.
