August Ames R.I.P.

So sad, she was one of my favourites, such a beautiful girl. RIP August.

I've never been into watching B/G porn & so I'm only vaguely familiar with August from her solo work & she was ridiculously beautiful,too pretty for porn as they say.
A young beautiful woman gone way too soon & as the twitter abuse she received before her death highlights everything that is wrong with Twitter (why I've never been or ever will be on Twitter).

Those twitter keyboard warrior un-educated assholes who spouted abuse should hang their heads in shame & live with the guilt for the rest of their lives (but they'll probably move onto someone else & continue spitting out their bile).
It has been said many times that porn that isn't properly regulated & performer's properly tested is like playing Russian Roulette with peoples lives & so August was entirely right to choose/refuse who she worked with.

Read about this last night on Twitter and it really saddened me. I was a fan of hers and through following her on Twitter was aware of some of the shit she had been putting up with since the claims of homophobia surfaced. I thought it was more based on the male performer failing health tests in the past and refusing to take checks before and after performing without protection, but I might have it wrong. I read her final tweet a couple of days ago that simply read "Fuck yall" and didn't think much of it. How dark that feels now.

I doubt the internet warriors and the bandwagon jumpers who followed feel some remorse. They're probably already looking for their next target to help validate their empty little lives. The world is such a fucked up place.

Reports that she died of Asphyxiation due to hanging herself though surprised because many women who decide that path dont choose that method they prefer the pills. not a good way for a 23 yr old to go. truly saddens me that twitter and the internet has come to this. especially from certain people who claim to be tolerent but are worse than the people they claim are intolerent. If it makes some of the SJW take a hard think about how they were acting then maybe something can come from this needless death but i doubt that will happen.

Agree August wasn’t being homophobic as the “bullies” were saying she was & attacking her as a result with disgusting tweets. She simply said for the sake of her health, she would not work with any Male performers who have done gay porn, presumably because of the risk of getting Aids.

Sadly some of these bullied are unrepentant & are doubling down by attempting to justify why they said what they did to her. They are deleting these tweets & protecting their social media to attempt to avoid criminal charges & being blacklisted in the us adult industry

I do not condone the online abuse that August Ames received and I 100% support her decision not to have intercourse with whomever she choses (or doesn't in this case) her body her prerogative.

Moving away from August on focusing just on the issue of the health of industry sex I feel that I need to address something here. Firstly the industry has rigorous testing, it used to be that actors had to get tested every 28 days and had to bring their results to set before they could work, however after performer Cameron Bay, her boyfriend Rod Daly and an unknown third party were found to be HIV positive, due to industry screening, the FSC reduced the screening period to 14 days. So any performer in a professional setting cannot engage in intercourse unless they have a test declaring that they are free of infection that is no more than 14 days old, 15 days since your last test and you cannot perform that is the law not just an industry guideline and its not just for HIV: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis B and C and trichomonal infection all have to be included in the 14 day test period.

Bay, Daly and anonymous were also believed to have contracted HIV by offset means in fact from the period of 2004 to 2014 there were zero cases of on set transmission of HIV. I will also add that the performer Danny D who many of you will know is the husband of Sophia Knight started off doing gay porn, he currently holds the third highest number of scenes performed for the Brazzers Network at 468, adding scenes that he has done for Digital Playground (38) and the knowledge that he has done work for others sites we know that he has done at least 500 heterosexual scenes since he was in gay porn and there has been no instances of HIV transmission involving him

It was in all the papers and received world wide media attention, so much was the ignorance around AIDs that despite no medical evidence the general population at large believed that you could contract the disease by bare handed contact

So yes performers have the right to refuse to have sex with whoever they chose but if you are refusing to have sex with someone because they have had homosexual intercourse, when you know the level of screening because you have been part of that process for years then you are doing so because of an irrational phobia that has proven to be not just hurtful to thousands but FATAL

Thing is we dont know about this performer she turned down and when he last had done a gay porn scene. if there wasn't a slight risk then why are gay men not allowed to give blood till 3 months after having intercourse? yes its good its regulated but still doesnt mean there hasnt been issues over the last 5 years. there have been a number of shut downs.

and when there was a syphilis scare in Prague a number of performers just moved to Spain to do scenes. remember tina kay doing her nut about it.

Some people are more concerned with being right than empathy towards the death of a young woman

I totally have empathy for the death of this young woman it was a horrible tragedy and I reiterate the fact that she 100% has the right to refuse intercourse with anyone.

We don't knowmuchat most 13 days since his last negative test and the man he had had sex with was at most 13 days away from his last negative test, he was in the same boat as all the straight performers the only thing that separated them was an irrational fear, all she said was that he had done gay porn giving no context to the level of screening he would of received or that anal sex is less common in homosexual couples than heterosexual and that allows ignorance fueled phobia to flourish.

She may well not have looked at is as being homophobic but as I said early we as a society need conduct ourselves better and not feed hysteria, misinformation and irrational fear of those that are different and I regret that the her statement will have done that
