Once my travels been taken out of my wages and then all the money for hair, make up, outfits etc etc sometimes I wonder if I'd be better off stacking shelves in Sainsburies... Probably would be less stressful lmao !!!

jade wasn't saying she isn't paid well what she's saying is after expenses its not as high as you would all expect. Some girls will get paid more than others, thats just standard. Someone said "real work"? as far as i'm concerned if she's paying her taxes then she is doing real work. What the girls do isn't easy, i know i couldn't have a camera on me all day talking to strangers. In life you do what you are good at, i find that there is an unfair stigma towards this profession especially as its sometimes from people who help fund the industry. I'm an accountant, because its something im good at and i find it easy, nothing wrong with them wanting the same from their job. Finally she isnt saying that you guys should dtw, what she is saying is don't make it so blatant because then they can't do their job.

Many thanks, first of all, to Jade for sharing her perspective on these things. It never fails to amaze me how everyone always complains that girls don't engage more on this forum when the default reaction to any post from one of the babes is 'pounce'.

It never actually crossed my mind that babes were somehow making supermodel cash from these shows. The whole thing seems like an honest day's work for the babes and but a going concern for the channels, who always seem to be on a financial knife edge at that.

Anyway, Jade did make an interesting point though, which highlights my particular distaste for those wishlists:

Right there. That's the problem. The whole idea that financial domination is a legitimate fetish so there's nothing wrong with it.

There is a fine line between a self-indulgent fetish and a self-destructive addiction. How can you know what side of that line a guy is on? Many will say 'buyer beware' and 'a fool and his money...' and all of that nonsense. But the reality is that babeshows and sexual fetishes are addictive habits -- as anybody here who has received a jaw-dropping phone bill can attest.

In any sphere of life that can lead to addiction we have regulation in place to protect the most afflicted from themselves. We ban certain drugs, bartenders cut people off, casinos are obliged as a condition of their license to put measures in place to identify and help problem gamblers. Even the babeshows have the 20-minute 'timeout' and if someone overdoes it, their phone company will suspend their line.

But these wishlists are completely without regulation or recourse. As Jade so astutely pointed out, the girls have no way of knowing how much a guy makes anymore than we obviously have a sense of what she makes. They don't know who can afford what. And assuming that anyone who makes a big purchase is a 'fetishist' rather than an 'addict' -- let alone an 'idiot' -- is just being willfully naïve.

They quite clearly aren't mindreaders and can't know for sure whether the iPad she received was from a fatcat banker with more money than sense, or from someone's grandfather so deluded by loneliness that he spends his pension money on a babe's appreciation which is then mistaken for affection.

I'm not saying don't have a wishlist. I can see that there are reasons for having one. But for godsake, keep it in perspective. Does anyone really need a £600 handbag? I can assure you that nobody needs one as a 'highest priority'!

Those big ticket items are an invitation to the weakest and most vulnerable. They go far beyond the realms of a 'token of appreciation'. Sure, they might be appropriate for the 'financial submissive' who can afford it, but they are also tantalizing bait to the addled and addicted. And the girls have absolutely no way of knowing which is which.

Girls with endless lists of iPads and laptops and designer bags and absurdly priced perfurmes, etc. are -- to my mind -- like a blackjack dealer at a casino who, after her shift, hangs out outside a Gamblers Anonymous meeting and invites people back to her place for a private game.

And I don't mind saying any of this because I think that Jade agrees with me. Because I checked out her wishlist and it is sixteen pages of mostly modestly priced goods, the vast majority of which are less than £100 and most of those are what one might describe as tools of the trade rather than wholly personal self-indulgences. Compared to the catalogue of jewelry and white goods on most girls' wishlists it demonstrates admirable self-restraint! If all wishlists were like that, they wouldn't be such a controversial issue.

I think to be fair to Jade she made some valid points and I'm sure that some of us have assumed that they are paid handsome wages when in fact it could be no better or no worse than some of us are earning...

Jade has written two sensible posts that some people have misjudged, she even tells you how to get away more in one for god's sake but people are too quick to jump to their own conclusions. Take time to read and take on information and don't react like people are trying to start fights, because they are not. Make the most out of sensible posting because it is rare.

I think the issue with wishlists is that it is a very fine line between being a reasonable token of appreciation and exploitation. I'm a bit of an avid twitter follower and with a lot of ladies you see some really effusive, and I think heartfelt thanks, for small items more so than the £500 pair of shoes; buying something for their dogs really seems to to extract genuine appreciation.

The world these days, for better or worse, is moving away from personal responsibility so the standard response of buyer beware no longer applies (see all the money banks are paying back from misselling PPI/Accounts etc). This is there to stop the exploitation of the terminally gullible which at the extreme end is what happens with wishlists. So there is no hidding place for girls that push the boundaries of exploitation (whether they believe the guy wants to or not).

As for earnings I have a lot of sympathy for the girls who just work the channels and don't have other incomes (you know what I mean!!). Most of us in our jobs expect our earnings to go up as we get older; for the girls this isn't the case and they have to retire early (but without the safety net that other early retirement jobs such as police, fireman, with a decent pension scheme). They have to make hay when the sun shines.

Pay for any job is based on how easy you are to replace; with a few exceptions there are plenty of pretty girls around to step into girls shoes if needed. Try getting a big wage from your boss when he knows he can replace you in an instant!!

So I thought that was a damn fine post by Samantha Jade although I would say stacking shelves at Sainburys can be stressful; or at least it is clearly harder than it looks after my last visit

if you are worried about guys with addiction, lets ban every sale of alcohol, cigarettes, chocolate, fast food, fatty food, high calorie food, ban every single form of betting etc etc etc

leave the babes alone to make the money they make, they are not forcing anyone to do anything as far as i can see.
