The Truman Show is the most sickly saccharin amount of piffle I have ever sat through and shows no range from him, other than he can keep his usual schtick under control. It shows no understanding of what the character is going through and is just Jim Carrey 'dialled down'. ESOTSM shows he has depth, that he understood what was required from the part rather than ignoring it and playing it 'normal'. That is also because he was doing it for a directing genius like Michel Gondry. Meanwhile, back on topic...

EDIT: I forgot to add that all opinions are valid and equal.

Eternal Sunshine depends for its happy ending on one of the baddies suddenly having an attack of conscience.

The Truman Show depends for its happy ending on the lead character pushing himself to the limit and going beyond.

The Silence of the Lambs is about a crappy serial killer who wouldn't tax Taggart for more than about 30 minutes.

But as you say, this is off topic Wink

^ Yes it was one of his first roles. Torture scene. Lecter removes his ability to be funny. bladewave

The idea that the babeshows "are not that deep" is driven by those that don't wish to acknowledge how much effective customer service and a consideration of psychology impacts users' future interactions.

**Spoiler Alert**

I've never really thought of Eternal Sunshine as having 'baddies', just people who are willing to go to increasing lengths to surpress their own morality to make a connection with someone. Patrick [Elijah Wood] is the most manipulative of the characters but the others are as controlling and passive/aggressive, in their own way. Personally, I don't think the film has a happy ending. Ok, Joel and Clementine end up together but the end premise is based around accepting other people's flaws and seeing how it goes, rather than deleting someone from your mind as a solution. It could be that they break up but it's worth living your life to find out.

The Truman Show is way too much of an inverted pyramid for me - everything pointing towards that moment when Ed Harris reveals himself as the Christof/God character. Plus you could tell the original script was a thriller but was rewritten with Carrey's funny schtick crowbarred in, just to appeal to his fanbase. I dare say the original Twilight Zone episode it was based on was much better than the film it became. It's a bit too formulaic for my liking - like a Disney film.

I used to buy things for strippers sometimes. I don't see any harm so long as the gifts are modest.

Well, immorality is a bad thing to me Tongue

I'd say Carrey is the best thing in it, the stuff with Ed Harris is mebbe too American? Clearly, a RL Hollywood ending would have seen Carrey stay in his box for ever.

Think he was filming Earth Girls Are Easy instead. But he would have fitted in with the risible Thomas Harris plot.

RE: Buying items from, gifts for... Experiences & Cautionary tales
Being honest if I had cash and I mean lottery win kind of cash I would seriously consider buy something for my fav girl but knowing full well that I get nothing out of it which is a point many people forget with these things

I have read some comments about you felt sorry one guy who a babe got to spend 100s on credits yea feel sorry he is the problem in that not the babe they are running a business at the end of the day there job is to make you feel like they are your friend to keep money rolling in

They do it on calls all the time when someone gets cut off they are on the mic asking them to ring back

Wish lists are not the problem many sites use them It's when they start asking for really expensive stuff I have seen some cam shows models asking for TVs and the like

I do consider how you feel, I said in my post earlier I can understand why your upset and feel hard done by having spent the money on something from gina that hasn't arrived. have you tried sending gina a letter to the s66 fanmail address to try and get something sorted since you cant speak to her on twitter?

again ill say I hope something can be sorted between you and gina to successfully resolve this situation. im not taking anyone's side in this.

amy1 why should my opinion be ignored just because you don't agree with it. im entitled to my comments just as much as you

I've just discovered this thread and I have to say your comments are an utter disgrace, even by your low standards. The OP clearly laid out the situation and you either lack the comprehension skills to understand it or you deliberately ignored it to take Gina's side.

Your post is clearly one-sided, especially when you swallow the crap from Gina about being stressed out by the situation. If she is stressed out it's of her own making - if she'd honoured the transaction or given a refund all would be well.

Sort out the crap going on in your head rammy, for God's sake.

And I agree with amy1, your drivel should be ignored, especially when it's as offensive as the post in question. The OP has been ripped off and needs support from this forum, not white knights like you jumping to the girl's defence in such a knee jerk and mindless fashion. Grow up and accept that the girls don't give a shit about you, and stop deluding yourself. You are not their friend.
