False Advertising - masshypnosis - 29-05-2009 03:45

I was having a look at the videos posted by txmole on http://www.babevideo.co.uk, advertising if you have Playboy TV you can get Television X for half price. Nothing wrong with this however, the videos show completely uncut hardcore porn, which we know can only be viewed online.

This is completely wrong and for who doesn't know a lot about the rules of adult broadcasting on TV, they could sign up to a long contract (which are very hard to get out of) thinking they will see uncut porn.

They will see uncut porn. They can see it on the Television X website, as a subscription to Television X includes access to their website as well as access to their TV channels.

Yes I know this, but the video is advertising the TV deal.

Doesn't matter. what i gather from what barriebf said if you subscribe to tvx then you get the internet deal with it. while it may not be completly honest from tvx, i don't think the false advertising claim can be used in this instance. sneaky tactics nontheless but what do you expect? they're all crooks if you ask me.

TVX are perfectly entitled to claim that they show "uncut hardcore xxx" on Sky, Cable and Freeview as there isn't an accepted legal definition as to what "uncut hardcore xxx" is in UK terminology.

It is only when they start claiming that they are better and show more than PlayBoy TV that they start getting into trouble.

For anyone who does sign up to TVX and is unhappy with the service, you have the legal right of the "30 day cooling-off period". If you cancel within this time period you do not have to be tied in to the 12 month contract.
